BIO

Paul Nicholls is Executive Director of Research Partnerships at the University of Queensland (UQ). Paul supports UQ in its capacity to respond to industry and community demand and translate research into community impact across eight key portfolios: Defence, National Security and Space; Minerals and Resources; Energy Transformation; Health and Medical Sciences; Climate Change and Environment; Food and Agriculture; Brisbane 2032; and Advanced Manufacturing Technology. Paul brings more than 20 years’ experience in senior leadership positions across business development and strategic planning in higher education and science communication. He joins UQ after 12 years at Curtin University, where he led the development of Curtin’s industry engagement portfolio and established ongoing partnerships with organisations including Cisco, Optus and BHP.
