BIO
Agnes is a PhD Candidate at the QUT Business School, and she is the recipient of the QUT Postgraduate Research Award (QUTPRA) scholarship. Her research investigates the link between digitalization and circular economy, which could provide potential solutions for sustainable development by also establishing new business and ownership models. Agnes is interested in looking at the benefits and opportunities of digitalization and the way digital technologies can enable the implementation of circular economy principles and support this paradigm shift with the aim to address global challenges including our unsustainable production and consumption patterns. Agnes’s supervisors are Dr Rui Torres de Oliveira, Professor Leonie Barner and Associate Professor Shane Mathews.
Agnes has completed her undergraduate studies in Regent’s University London, UK (International Business with French and Spanish – Honours First Class) and she did her Master of Business (Innovation & Entrepreneurship and Social Impact & Sustainability – Dean’s Honour Roll Award) at the University of Queensland, Brisbane. She also has a background in systems thinking and system dynamics and has been a research assistant in the field for over 3 years. Agnes believes in the power of systems thinking and advocates that the solution to any complex problem starts with a shift in our mindset and mental models.
