Our approach

Science and research are critical to Queensland's transition to a decarbonised economy in which communities, industry and our unique environment thrive.

However, there is frequently a disconnect between academics and the policymakers or practitioners implementing change on the ground.

The Hub takes a unique approach to close that gap. Our core purpose is to translate and share knowledge to support community, industry, state and local governments and the environment to achieve rapid emissions reduction, and to help identify the opportunities that this change offers.

We do this through:

  • Talking with government, industry and community to understand critical challenges and barriers.
  • Using evidence and experts to formulate tailored responses that support policy development and on-ground transition.
  • Working together to address knowledge gaps and research needs.
  • Evaluating the outcomes and impact of our work.

This approach means we draw on a range of perspectives and knowledge to produce accessible, useable, timely and relevant outputs that avoid duplication and respond to contemporary issues.
