BIO

Dr Jenny Wang has multidisciplinary education and research background in engineering, accounting, and finance/economics. She also has extensive industry experience working as an analyst and accounts manager in the banking and real estate sectors. She has collaborated with governments (APRA, ASIC, ATO, Queensland Rail), industry sectors (Rio Tinto, SunWater), professional parties (PWC, KPMG, BDO), and institutes/universities (UQ, QUT, Griffith Uni.). Jenny’s current research interests include climate/sustainable finance, TCFD, ESG, and innovative financial tools (e.g., weather index insurance) for risk transfer. Jenny is also a member of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) at the Australian Sustainable Finance Institute (ASFI). The TAG is an expert group of key financial market stakeholders and subject matter experts to provide technical input and advice to deliver the ASFI Taxonomy initiative, which aims to develop an Australian sustainable finance taxonomy and ultimately support the transition to net-zero emissions goals. Jenny has been awarded the CFA Institute's Certificate in ESG Investing. Jenny has recently secured the ARC Early Career Industry Fellowship in the inaugural round (2023).
