Happy New Year from the Hub team! 2026 has already been a whirlwind of activity for us, and we're excited to share what we've got planned for the year.
2025 Wrapped
2025 was a year of networking and events for the Hub! The team attended the Quantum Meets Decarbonisation Forum in Brisbane and learned about the possibility of using quantum technology to meet Net Zero targets. Find out more about what happened at the event here.
We were also a proud partner of AlterCOP and participated in the Climate Fresk workshop that kicked off the proceedings. Our Research Director, Liz, was also busy, chairing a decarb panel at AlterCOP and participating in the Committee for Economic Development of Australia's panel on QLD Environmental Approvals and Nature Impact.
Upcoming Events
Researcher Presentations and webinars
In late April, we're planning a day to highlight the research outcomes of the Hub's funded projects in an interactive way. Stay tuned for more details around the options for attending in-person in Brisbane or online in a webinar format.
Hub Forum
In late September, we're hosting the long-awaited Hub forum, bringing together researchers, industry representatives and government decision-makers to discuss Queensland’s progress towards net-zero.
Regional Project
Keep an eye out for the announcement of our regional project! We’re currently deep in discussions with stakeholders, but will soon unveil the objective of this new research endeavour.
Research publications
Throughout the year, our research teams will be publishing reporting milestones about their projects. If you’d like to learn more, keep an eye on our LinkedIn and the News page on our website.
Expressions of Interest - Webinar Series
We are planning to host several webinars on decarbonisation-related topics throughout the year. In the coming months, we will put a call-out on LinkedIn for anyone who would like to be involved as either a host or a panel member.
If this sounds like you, please consider what decarbonisation-related topic you would like to present about and what your topic adds to discussions around decarbonisation.
Social Media
We've been busy over on LinkedIn! As a way to broaden the Hub's network and build connections between researchers and the wider community, we've posted profiles on several of the Hub's leading researchers.
Website Update
The Hub's website has a new Glossary page, providing definitions of some key decarbonisation terms and informative resources. Check it out here!
