Queensland’s decarb capability and innovation ecosystem
What is Queensland's current capacity and capability for decarbonising our industries and leveraging global opportunities through innovation?
Why
Government, researchers, industry and communities are looking for decarbonisation opportunities and solutions.
With a vast breadth of work underway, they are seeking a common language and clear view of decarbonisation capability to find ways to collaborate and support a smooth transition.
Approach
A clear picture supports efficiency and impact.
We will develop a dynamic map of Queensland’s capability and innovation landscape to show the scope and nature of decarbonisation activities underway and identify gaps and opportunities in the process.
A visual data tool, this will enable industries, community groups and governments to connect and collaborate with researchers, innovators and support organisations and to understand what technologies, finance and other enablers exist to support their decarbonisation goals.
And we'll use the tool to support our projects to support community and regional transformation, identify and assess nature-based solutions and environmental integrity.
Aims
- Provide an accessible, transparent and dynamic central information source.
- Provide a shared language for government, university, industry and communities.
- Support cross-sectoral engagement for improved collaboration and greater impact.
- Enable more efficient and effective implementation and translation of innovation and entrepreneurial activities.
Project
- Development and delivery of visual mapping tool – Map and measure the Australian innovation ecosystem, including actors, roles, and policy analysis over time and across regions, functions, and areas of impact.
- Analysis of opportunities and gaps to advance Queensland's decarbonisation ambitions.
